Hi, I'm Ania (Ahn-yuh)! I'm from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I've always been drawn to anything that lets me see the world a little differently. From photography and digital art to fashion, beauty, and now brand strategy, my interests have never fit neatly into one box, and I wouldn't have it any other way. After studying Strategic Design & Management at Parsons School of Design, I'm now pursuing my MFA in Branding at the School of Visual Arts, where I'm learning to look beyond how things are designed and explore why they resonate with people in the first place.
One of the things I love most about design is how personal it can be, something I've experienced firsthand through my work as a Color Expert at Lip Lab. I help clients create custom lipsticks and lip glosses from scratch, combining color theory, creativity, and a little bit of experimentation to bring their ideas to life. Sometimes that means recreating a shade they've loved for years, and other times it's helping them discover something completely new. What I've found most interesting is how much personality, emotion, and even memory can be tied to a single color. It's made me realize that the most meaningful creative work isn't just about making something beautiful, but understanding the person it's meant for.
Outside of Lip Lab, I've built my own little corner of the digital art world, with over 500 freelance sales, and have had the opportunity to photograph New York Fashion Week, where my love for fashion, visual storytelling, and the unexpected all come together. I love experimenting across different mediums and finding connections between things that might not seem related at first.
Growing up in Puerto Rico and building a life in New York have shaped the way I see creativity, culture, and identity. I speak English and Spanish fluently, along with some Italian, and love discovering new places, perspectives, and ways of thinking. When I'm not behind a camera or experimenting with a new idea, you'll probably find me traveling, meditating, or getting involved in art and fashion events.
I like to think of myself as a collector of ideas, colors, experiences, and little details that other people might overlook. I'm still figuring out all the ways they fit together, but that's what makes the creative process so exciting to me. The more I discover, the more I have to bring to whatever I create next.
